First, I would like to say thank you for checking out my blog and considering me for a review. I decided to create this page to help publishers and authors learn more about what to expect when I do a review.
HOW ARE MY REVIEWS DONE?
So I am in no way a professional book reviewer, or someone who analytically dissects a book for a review. Most of my reviews are my feelings and thoughts about a particular book and I write my reviews as if I were talking about it to a close friend.
I am also 100% COMPLETELY HONEST with my reviews. I understand that an author puts a lot of work and effort into their story, however, I will not pretend to like something. Lastly, I will never accept any form of payment or gift to create a positive review.
All of my reviews will be posted on my blog and Goodreads. If you wish a review to be posted elsewhere (Amazon, Netgalley, etc.) please let me know in your email and I will gladly do so. I also run a YouTube channel where I might post small booktalks about the books I read or mention them in my monthly wrap-ups.
My reviews will consist of the following: the title, the cover, date of publication, author's name, page numbers, genre, where I got the book (bought, library, received for review), the goodreads synopsis, a rating out of 1-5 stars.
WHAT TYPES OF BOOKS WILL I ACCEPT?
I will accept self-published books as well as indie titles if they sound interesting to me. I would love to read everything that comes my way, but unfortunately due to my day-to-day obligations that is just not something that is practical.
When it comes to the format I prefer hard copies of the book, however I am happy to accept ebooks as well. If you are sending me an ebook, I just ask that it will be in a format that I will be able to read on my Kindle Fire since that is my sole source of reading ebooks.
BOOKS THAT ARE A PART OF A SERIES: If you want me to read a book that is in a series, I ask that you also provide the first book as well unless it is one that I have read.
I will accept books from most genres as long as the synopsis is one that intrigues me.
WHEN WILL YOU BE ABLE TO DO THE REVIEW?
I will try my absolute best to get the book read as soon as I can. If your book has yet to be published, I will aim to get a review out before the publication date. If you need the book to be read by a certain date, please let me know in your email.
CAN YOU DO A GIVEAWAY OR AN AUTHOR TOUR?
I am always open to doing giveaways for a book or an author blog tour. However, the same guidelines will apply when deciding on these.
